The walls are of\u00a0roughly coursed boulders with boulder plinth at the gable\u00a0ends and large quoins squared at the angles. The roof is of small\u00a0slates, perhaps original. The porch is contemporary with the\u00a0main part of the house; it contained the stair, which has been\u00a0replaced by a modem one of wood. A small single-storey\u00a0addition, probably 18th-century or earlier, occupies the re-entrant\u00a0angle to the N.<br \/>\nBoth the doorway to the porch and a doorway on the\u00a0S.W. front (altered into a window) have rounded heads.\u00a0The windows are for the most part of horizontal proportion\u00a0or square; one to the N. of the altered S.W. doorway has\u00a0been made into a doorway. The N.E. wing is lighted by a\u00a0square window high in the gable and by a narrow light over\u00a0the entrance. The square squat chimney on each main gable<br \/>\nhas a moulded course, above which rises a tall brick stack with<br \/>\ncapping.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crwydro.co.uk\/boduan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1553.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68\" src=\"http:\/\/crwydro.co.uk\/boduan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1553.jpg\" alt=\"1553\" width=\"332\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crwydro.co.uk\/boduan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1553.jpg 332w, http:\/\/crwydro.co.uk\/boduan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1553-222x300.jpg 222w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 332px) 100vw, 332px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The ground floor is ceiled in three bays, two to the main\u00a0room, the other formerly a room separated by a partition\u00a0pegged into the beam; all present subdivisions are modern.\u00a0No chamfers or stops of the main beams are now visible, but\u00a0the joists, mostly original though disturbed, are moulded only\u00a0on the soffits. The wide fireplace at the S.E. has a chamfered\u00a0and moulded bressummer with indented soffit.<br \/>\nThe first floor may formerly have been open to the roof\u00a0which is said to have carved timbers but is inaccessible.
