The stone is now\u00a0in use as the lintel to a cow-house, but before<em> ca.<\/em> 1860 stood\u00a0on a slight mound in which bones were found, on the parish\u00a0boundary in a field called Cae Pen-y-maen. The cross faced\u00a0the sea. The slab is of igneous rock, the inscribed face being\u00a04 ft. 6 ins. long by I ft. 2 ins. wide, but part of one edge has\u00a0been trimmed away. It bears an incised cross with expanded\u00a0arms, height 17 ins., breadth originally 9 ins. Probably 7thcentury.<br \/>\n<em>Arch. Camb.,<\/em> 1896, pp. 170-1; 1961, pp. 147-50.
