The<br \/>\nwalls of uncoursed boulders are of one build with original<br \/>\nopenings, and there are two tall square capped chimneys with<br \/>\ndrip ledges. The slate roofis a replacement offormer thatching.<br \/>\nCut into the face of the E. wall is an inscription WWI! 1762.1<br \/>\nThe S.E. room is separated from the entrance passage by a<br \/>\nwooden partition, mostly modern, but retaining the original<br \/>\nin-and-out work at the E. end. The dairy with a loft over it<br \/>\nat the outer gable end is an unusual but original feature. The<br \/>\nstair has stone treads built in with the projecting wing. The<br \/>\nattic storey has no features of note.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crwydro.co.uk\/rhiw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1726.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48\" src=\"http:\/\/crwydro.co.uk\/rhiw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1726.jpg\" alt=\"1726\" width=\"369\" height=\"455\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crwydro.co.uk\/rhiw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1726.jpg 369w, http:\/\/crwydro.co.uk\/rhiw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1726-243x300.jpg 243w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 369px) 100vw, 369px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Details ofthe plan and the quality ofthe woodwork suggest<br \/>\na date at the beginning of the 18th century rather than earlier,<br \/>\nbut it is unlikely to be as late as the inscription would suggest.<br \/>\nI Presumably for William Williams, the owner, and his wife, who in<br \/>\n1776 lived at Plas-yn-Rhiw (No. 1725).
