Two concentric banks, forming circles of<br \/>\nabout 75 and 100 yds. diameter between their crests, are<br \/>\nvisible on the ground only as slight surface swellings 10 ft.<\/p>\n<p>wide and I ft. high. Their construction is uncertain, but local<br \/>\ninformants recall the removal of stone in recent years, probably<br \/>\nwhen the banks were already well spread. Air photographs<br \/>\nshow traces of a central feature, perhaps including a round hut.<br \/>\nLhwyd, writing in 1696,1 records a stone circle 15 yds. in<br \/>\ndiameter near Meillionydd, and it is possible that the central<br \/>\nfeature noted here represents the last trace of this; nothing<br \/>\nelse now remains in the neighbourhood to which his description<br \/>\ncould apply.<\/p>\n<p>1 Arch.
