(1728) THE RECTORY

THE RECTORY was built in three stages. The original
house of ca. 1700, now forming the rear wing, stands on a
platform excavated in the hillside and is of roughly coursed.
rubble with an added upper storey. It has a squat square
chinmey with drip ledges. Additions were made on the E.
ca. 1775 and again, forming the present front, in 1833.1 All
roofs are of slate.
I Terriers of 1776 (which describes the house as thatched) and 1834(
N.L.W., Church in Wales Records, BJTERRJI336 and 1348).
Condition: good.
