(1529) THE OLD SCHOOL

THE OLD SCHOOL was erected after the death of Henry Rowland, bishop of Bangor, in 1618, by the terms of his will drawn up in 1616.1 It consists of a school room (29 ft. by 18 ft. 6 ins.) and an attached small house, the latter entirely rebuilt since 1774 when drawn by Moses Griffith. 2 The school  building has been heightened and re-roofed and a .doorway inserted on the W., the original doorway in the N. wall having been blocked. The three window openings on the S.
side are original, but the partition is modern.

Condition: rebuilt.
