THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST. PETER AD VINCULA was rebuilt in 1846 on the old site.1 The following fittings remain from the earlier church.- Books: for registers see p. cxxxvii. Plate: (i) Silver chalice with beaker-shaped bowl, the lip curved, on long stem and moulded foot, the bowl inscribed ‘Meilltryn Cup renewed by Arthur Williams Esq 1703’. London date-letter for 1703-4. Maker’s mark D I, a cherub above, a sprig (?) below, (Isaac Dighton). Height 6-1/16″ ins. (ii) Silver paten-cover with narrow border and short foot. Same date and marks. Diameter 4 ins.2 Miscellaneous: Standing stone in churchyard.3 It is a pillar of igneous rock with a regular outline but rough and unworked. It stands 8 ft. high and is of rectangular section 1 ft. 6 ins. by I ft. The stone leans to the S. and has had two holes bored into its W. face, to support a lantern, now removed.
Condition: rebuilt.
