(1640) STANDING STONE at about 270 ft. above O.D. on the crown of a slight hill. It is 9 ft. 9 ins. high and roughly rectangular in section, measuring 2 ft. N.N.W.-S.S.E. by 1 ft. 4 ins. throughout its height except for the top 1 ft. 6 ins., which is stepped at one side. The stone leans slightly to the N.W.
