(1690) CUP-MARKED STONE (Plate 3), 3 ft. 8 ins. high above ground and 2 ft. 2 ins. wide, now used as the E. gatepost of a stackyard to N.E. of the Parish Church. The stone presents a flattish face towards the gateway, and on this are visible at least 17 and possibly 20 shallow circular cup-markings, ranging in diameter from 2 ins. to 3.5 ins., and as much as .5 in. deep.
