(1516) FFYNNON GWYNEDD

FFYNNON GWYNEDD is probably the well on the E. side of the lane between Tyddyn-ffynnon and Penmaes. It is now concreted over, but large boulders still visible below and at the sides of the concrete show that it was dry built of large stones roughly coursed, and was about 8 ft. square externally and raised about I ft. 6 ins. above ground level.
The water now issues from a modern pipe through the concrete, and the well is capped by slate slabs.
Holy Wells, pp. 108, 154.
Condition: modernised.
