(1671) PONT RHYD-HIR

Over Afon Rhyd-hir. Bridge of four arches, with cutwaters upstream. The two main arches and the westernmost are segmental; the easternmost is smaller and semicircular; all are formed of roughly squared slabs and surmounted by flat slabs on which the breast walls;are off-set a few inches. The piers are of coursed rubble and weathered back to road level; the walls are roughly coursed and the parapets coped with rough slabs. Length 79 ft., width at parapets 16 ft. 9 ins. Built probably in 1780.1
