(1677) STANDING STONE, N.E. of Bodegroes

Modern park wall incorporates an earlier stone in the form of a roughly circular pillar about 1 ft. in diameter, standing upon a low plinth about 1 ft. 6 ins. square, and tapering to a blunt point, the whole being some 3 ft. high. There is no inscription on the visible face. The purpose and date of the pillar are unknown, but it was presumably a boundary stone of the Bodegroes estate.
Condition: good.
