(1670) PONT BODFEL

Over the Afon Rhyd-Hir. Bridge of three arches, the middle arch larger than the others, with cutwaters on both sides. The arches are segmental, formed of squared blocks and surmounted by flat slabs on which the breast walls are offset a few inches. The piers are of coursed rubble and weathered back to road level; the breast walls are random; the parapet is coped with rough slabs. Length 84 ft., width at parapets 18 ft. 8 ins., arches 20 ft. and 14 ft. in span. As rebuilt in 1805. 1
